Urban Decay Stoned Vibes Palette

I recently picked up the Urban Decay Stoned Vibes palette. The palette retails for $49USD and is available at urbandecay.com and Ulta. Between the shiny packaging, a 20% off coupon, and some points I had saved, I couldn't resist!

The exterior includes a fun, faux gem exterior that offers the effect of looking into an otherworldly geode. If you are into packaging, you might enjoy this. It is a plastic exterior, but as with most Urban Decay palettes I've owned, it is quite sturdy. If you ever travel with this, however, I'd recommend using some kind of soft travel bag to protect the gem-look facade from scratching. If you are like me, however, I enjoy having palettes like this on display in my vanity area.

The palette has 12 shades that include 8 shimmery tones, and 4 mattes. The shadows have a marbled effect reminiscent of the Huda New Nudes palette. I was happy to discover that this is not an overspray.

The shades swatch smoothly. I would definitely apply the shimmer shades with a finger to get the best payoff.

I also did some swatches with some fun, custom gem shaped stencils I created.

These swatched quite smoothly. I have a medium skin tone so for anyone deeper I would recommend a base to help these pop a bit more. You will still get the shimmer, but the base color may not show up the same on deeper skin tones.

I will update with some looks! In the meantime, tell me what you think of this palette and what your favorite shades are!
